The program is accredited by MÜDEK and holds the EUR-ACE quality label. Throughout their education, students complete a mandatory 40-day internship and have the opportunity to specialize in structural, geotechnical, transportation, hydraulic, and earthquake engineering.
“ The Department of Civil Engineering is part of Yeditepe University, which was granted public legal entity status under Law No. 4142 dated June 7, 1996, through the Istanbul Education and Culture Foundation (ISTEK Foundation). The department was established on March 26, 2008, under the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. ”
Undergraduate education in the department commenced in the Fall Semester of the 2008–2009 academic year.
The Soil Mechanics and Construction Materials Laboratories were completed, and double major programs were introduced in the same year.
Following the separation of the Department of Architecture from the faculty, the faculty was renamed the Faculty of Engineering.
The Master's Program in Civil Engineering was launched under the Graduate School.
The department developed a strong academic structure consisting of professors, assistant professors, lecturers, research assistants, scholarship researchers, and laboratory technicians.
As of Spring 2025, the department had reached a total of 689 graduates. More than 90% of its graduates secured employment within one year of graduation, while over 30% continued their education through graduate studies.
