A seminar titled “Health Data and the Role of AI in Clinical Decision Support Systems” will be delivered by Dr. Özkan Özdemir from Acıbadem University Istanbul on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 12:00, in Engineering Building, Room A206.
The seminar will examine the central role of health data in modern healthcare and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on clinical decision support systems. It will address how diverse data sources, including clinical records, laboratory findings, medical imaging, genomic data, and other multi-omics data, can be transformed into actionable knowledge for diagnosis, risk assessment, treatment planning, and personalized medicine.
The presentation will also discuss major challenges related to health data, including data volume, integration, standardization, interoperability, long-term usability, privacy, and ethical responsibility. In this context, FAIR data principles will be presented as a key framework for building transparent, reusable, and trustworthy AI-supported systems. Emerging approaches such as dynamic consent, explainable AI, and federated learning will also be highlighted.
All interested participants are cordially invited.
